Agility for Fun - 6 weeks

Introduce your dog to the sport of agility in a fun and safe way!  Teach your dog to go through tunnels, over jumps and start learning to do the weave poles and teeter.  This class will introduce your dog to several pieces of agility equipment and the handler to basic agility handling maneuvers.  Dogs are required to have basic obedience including sit, down, stay and come in a distracting environment.  Dogs must also be dog and people friendly.  Bring your dog to the first class on a regular flat buckle collar with lots of tasty tiny treats.  Humans should be comfortably dressed and ready to be active.

Canine Good Citizen Preparation - 4 weeks
This 4 week class focuses on practicing and polishing the skills needed to pass the AKC Canine Good Citizen test. The CGC program is open to both pure and mixed breed dogs. The ten step test covers the basic exercises needed to make your dog a welcome canine companion including sit, down, stay, walking nicely on leash, appropriately greeting humans, polite behavior around another dog, etc. Dogs are required to have completed a basic obedience class before taking this class. Please bring your dog, lots of tasty treats and proof of current vaccinations (including Rabies and DH2PP) to the first class.

Canine Good Citizen Testing
The AKC Canine Good Citizen is a certification program that is designed to reward dogs who have good manners at home and in the community. The Canine Good Citizen Program is a two-part program that stresses responsible pet ownership for owners and basic good manners for dogs. All dogs who pass the 10-step CGC test may receive a certificate from the American Kennel Club. The CGC program is open to both pure and mixed breed dogs. The test will be conducted by an approved AKC CGC evaluator.

Intro to Nosework
 - 6 weeks
Have fun teaching your dog how to use his nose!
Dogs have an amazing sense of smell and a natural desire to hunt. This class focuses on teaching you how to encourage and develop your dog's natural scenting abilities by using their desire to hunt and their love of toys, food and exercise. It is a great class for your dog to have fun, build confidence, and burn lots of mental and physical energy and to find out just how good your dog's nose is. High food or toy motivation is beneficial for this class. For dogs 10 weeks and older. Dogs in this class must be capable of handling confinement, crated away from their handlers. Class is 1.5 hours in duration. Class instructed by Emily Laidlaw.

Nosework

Intro to Odor  - 6 weeks
This class advances the dog's scent discrimination skills taught in the Introduction to Nose Work class. All dogs are taught to identify the first target odor, a natural essential oil. Additionally, we introduce techniques and tactics for building better dog/handler teamwork. Dogs in this class must be capable of handling confinement, crated away from their handlers. Prerequisite: Intro to Nosework. Class is 1.5 hours in duration. Class instructed by Emily Laidlaw.

Continuing Nosework & Advanced Nosework  - 6 weeks
These classes continues to advance the dog's scent discrimination skills taught in the Introduction to Odor class. Dogs will be working exclusively on the target odor. We will introduce vehicle searches and continue to increase the team's skills at both interior and exterior searches. Additionally, we will continue to enhance the handler's skills for building better dog/handler teamwork. Dogs in this class must be capable of handling confinement, either crated away from their handlers or in a properly equipped vehicle. Continuing Nosework Prerequisite: Intro to Odor  /  Advanced Nosework Prerequisite: Continuing Nosework.  Class is 1.5 hours in duration. Class instructed by Emily Laidlaw

Fun Tricks  - 4 weeks
Have some fun with your dog by teaching them some new and fun tricks.  You will learn a variety of training techniques to teach your dog how to shake, spin, rollover, fetch and so much more.  This class is great way to keep your dog entertained and challenged and you can show off to your friends. Dogs are required to have basic obedience including sit, down, and can focus in a distracting environment. Class is one hour long.
